I was inspired to sketch this image based off a dope photograph of an African woman in a record shop surrounded by vinyls. I really relate to the subject’s apparent love of music. I got really into the details of the background, including the vinyl album covers and just the sheer volume of music surrounding her slim frame, and the intensity with which she was perusing the shelves. But for some reason, or perhaps for that very reason, I could never bring myself to fill in more than two bright shades of her outfit. Part of me really likes the contrast of the black, white, blue, and orange, and the other part of me is just too damn tired. Either way, it’s all good.
