AT THIS POINT ISSUE #001

I made a four-color diary-entry style comic strip. I've wanted to create one for a while but spent too much time thinking about what it should be. This format freed me up to create something simple but meaningful — to me, anyway. This one features the homie Autumn Knight, and is inspired by an afternoon spent walking the streets of New York, eating, drinking matcha and coffee, taking in art, smoking… These are a few of my favorite things. And Autumn’s one of my favorite people. I didn’t sweat the technique too much here. This loosely drawn style with washes of watercolor* is really fun, and feels authentic to the way I doodle in my journal and the margins of books.

UPDATE: I was inspired to go back and reformat the original version of this work, seen below, into the framing and comic book pulp paper I used up with for the second issue.

*With that change, I also edited the watercolor version into a soft, comic-worthy halftone texture. I love it!
